Online guide to cope with severe weather
Following the recent disastrous and widespread flooding in cumbria many people may need help from their insurers. Zurich, one of the many quality insurers used by Clarke Dove, have developed a severe weather help service- which is now live- to provide useful support and advice to the Public.
The website (www.fightingfloods.co.uk) pulls together practical advice from its own experts and leading bodies like the Environment Agency on flood prevention and what to do during and after a flood. It contains links and useful phone numbers to Zurich and external contacts, as well as a practical flood and emergency guide and a personal video from a homeowner hit by the flooding which provides a moving insight into the consequences.

New rules on retaining Employers Liability Certificates The Employers Liability (Compulsory Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 came into effect on the 1 October 2008 and has significantly changed the responsibilities of employers to display and retain EL certificates. Employers no longer need to keep certificates for 40 years, nor physically display them in the workplace, providing employees are able to access certificates electronically. Despite less onerous requirements being introduced by the legislation we highly recommend and are encouraging business customers to continue retaining their Employers Liability certficiation. This retention continues good business practice and reduces the risk of protracted disputes over the identity of the responsible insurer in due course.
